One of the easiest changes to implement, is not what you eat, but how you eat. Instead of eating as fast as you can so you can get back to work, take the time to eat slowly, and be present when you eat.

Although it may at first seem like you are wasting precious time, think of it as an investment in your health instead. Enjoy your food, eat slowly, chew carefully and pace yourself.

 

Studies have shown that anxiety or stress while eating may reduce the amount of enzyme you produce, which means you aren’t letting your body break down your food as well as it normally would.

 

Chewing your food properly makes it easier for your body to continue breaking it down and digest it properly.

 

And finally, training yourself to eat more slowly can allow for you to have that same wonderful full feeling, without accidentally overeating more than we actually need. All it takes is to slow down, chew more carefully and pace yourself. When you take your time, you will find that less is more.
